It’s our second day exploring Ireland’s historical forts on the biggest of the Aran Islands, Inis Mór! 🏰 We begin the break day with espresso and our new furry Irish associates earlier than driving our bikes to a conventional Aran sweater store. We peruse the attractive handmade wool sweaters and start making our method to the farthest Eastern level of the island, an unnamed seashore. 🌊 After a fast stroll by the ocean, we hop again on the bikes to head in direction of the top of our time on Inis Mór, Dún Dúchathair, or The Black Fort.
The Black Fort was constructed within the 4th century AD. While Dún Aonghasa was lovely, Dún Dúchathair is way more wild and abandoned feeling. We felt like we had been standing in a scene out of Game of Thrones! ⚔️ After the expertise of a lifetime at The Black Fort, we proceed our quest to journey our bikes from one finish of the island to the opposite. While we didn’t find yourself making all of it the way in which, we did uncover the attractive Na Seacht dTeampaill, in any other case referred to as The Seven Churches. ⛪️ It’s unbelievable how outdated the traditional buildings on Inis Mór are.
